Classroom Policies

 

MR. WESNER’S EXPECTATIONS AND POLICIES

Be responsible                         Be reasonable                         Be respectful

  • 1. Enter the room quietly and log-on to your computer.
  • 2. All homework needs to be in class and complete at the beginning of each hour.
  • 3. Redo work when it is not acceptable. All class assignments must be done correctly. If it is not done correctly the first time, expect to revise and resubmit.
  • 4. Cheating or talking in any manner during an assignment, quiz or test will result in a zero.
  • 5. Students are encouraged to work with each other; however, this is not a time for gossip.
  • 6. Your assignments should be completed in the manner listed below. If they are not, you may be required to redo your work with a possible penalty.   
    • Formal projects, papers, etc. should be word processed with black ink.
    • All other class work should be completed in pencil or standard blue/black ink.

  • 7. LATE WORK: Late work is defined as work unavailable for turning in or being corrected when the teacher so directs. Any assignments that are not turned in on the due date will earn a “C”.  Please turn your
  • work in on time.  A late assignment or missing assignment significantly affects your class grade!
  • 8. PREARRANGED ABSENCES: If you have a prearranged absence (field trips, sports, etc.), you must check with me PRIOR to the prearranged absence to turn in any work that is due on the day(s) of the absence, plus to get any new assignments and to arrange make-up times for quizzes, tests, etc.
  • 9. PLANNERS: Planners are required to be used on a daily basis.
  • 10. Food, drinks, candy and gum are not permitted at any time in the classroom. Any of the four found will be disposed of immediately.
  • 11. The equipment and machines in this room will be treated with the utmost care. Anyone caught defacing, damaging, or improperly using the equipment or machines will be punished appropriate to the offense, and may lose their privilege of using the equipment and machines
  • 12. No unauthorized surfing on the Internet or unauthorized printing.
  • 13. You must remain at your computer station during class. No rolling around the classroom in a chair.
  • 14. Please observe the classroom computer use guidelines.
  • 15. Problems with hardware and/or software are to be reported to the teacher.  Do not attempt to fix/repair the computers.
  • 16. Any misuse of the network and/or the Internet will result in the following: 
  • Student will be removed from the network
  • Current Assignment grade will be reduced by one complete grade

We will be using the West Middle School Grading Scale!

I encourage you to show this website with your parents.  Your parents are an important part of this class, too.  You will find that I strongly encourage you to share with your parents.  Here are some things you should share with your parents on a regular basis.

  •  Classroom expectations and policies
  •  Your current class grade
  •  Class activities
  •  Your homework and project assignments (include due dates)
  •  Special information your asked to take home and share
